STACC provides support for part of a project providing essential primary health care provision for children in Machinga District, a rural community in one of the poorest areas in Malawi.  STACC provided some initial capital finance for Masamambuka Clinic, including funding for a solar energy plant to power refrigerators to keep medication fresh. In addition, STACC has agreed to make quarterly payments on treatments for children in the community for an initial period of five years.

Professor Mwapatsa Mipando, Chair of STACC-Malawi, gives a talk on progress with the establishment of the clinic, and the challenges of providing primary health care in Malawi.
